As obvious as it sounds, this quote highlights Myles´ love and interest of many different styles of music and genre - be it jazz, classical, pop, hip-hop, film soundtrack, world music or a mixture of all these.


Myles studied jazz composition and arranging under Graeme Lyall at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he explored his love of jazz and big band music. After graduating in 1999 he then went on to complete a Masters degree in Studio Jazz Writing under Gary Lindsay at the University of Miami.





After spending time at the Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles in 2002, he taught composition and arranging for 3 years at the International College of Music in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and currently teaches Music Appreciation at Notre Dame University in Fremantle.


Myles has composed for numerous ensembles and vocal groups throughout his career. His latest work includes writing music for student film and theatre projects at Notre Dame, collaborating with dance choreographer Ellen McCarthy, and lecturing at UWA Extension.
